There is not much left to say than that the Q5s TC is a true reference quality portable dac/amp with bluetooth support and a flagship desktop performance at a very competitive price. and the only reason I am willing to spend that much is AKM. there are two other products I am waiting to buy are ESS and I could buy both and still have enough leftover to buy more. I plan on buying something balanced ~250 ohms. Glad I'm not an audiophile. Q5 sounds like a transition from a portable to a desktop device, whereas Q5S is sounding like a grown-up desktop device.

Mids are of course perfectly flat and crystal clear but they are not dry at all as they sound fully engaging with a weighty presentation.On the top edge you’ll find a 3.5mm optical/coaxial/analogue input and 3.5mm line out, alongside a switchable gain control and an on/off bass-boost switch. The analog potentiometer volume knob aided by ADC curve reconstruction technology eliminates low volume channel imbalance thus allowing for greater precision in adjusting the volume in tiny steps. Mid-bass is better defined without being overdone, just a pinch higher than linear to induce those sweet harmonics and some of the fullness and natural tonality into the mix.

Chord Mojo offers a slower , smoother darker more relaxed warm presentation it is more organic and less layered ( less soundstage ) , takes a little bit more to be measured by ears ; it sounds more analoguish then the Fiio Q5s-TC , it also exposes a good amount of micro detail but more hidden then the Fiio which presents them more evidently, and at times quite exceeds the Chord in this regard.Front switches also feel nice and tight to operate. Boost stands for 2 position impedance switch (low = <150Ohms, high = >150Ohms), Bass is responsible for boosting lows/midbass and Gain does what expected in 3 significant changes in its level. Left side buttons serve to scroll through inputs (Input), upscale coaxial/optical input stream (SRC) and to change PCM/DSD filters (Filter): Q5S is portraying music on all axes and I could actually appreciate the distance between each instrument and how far away are those from me. Live recordings are gaining this epic feel and regular recording are having an improved layering around each and every note. There are separate USB Type-C ports for charging and data on the XD-05 Plus, just like on Earmen TR-AMP. There’s an Aux In / Out, which means a Line Out, and a Line In, so XD-05 Plus can act as a standalone AMP too. Digital input, in the shape of Optical is also there.

I think they may release Q7 (or something like this), but this will not be until at least the end of the year (since DAPs launches will continue until August, so i think).
