About this deal
This can get very technical and if you are interested, read BBR’s complete guide to the exit pupil.
The two measures, magnification, and size of objective lenses relate to the field of view. Field of view is how wide an area is encompassed in the image seen through the binocular. Thus even if we take the “largest compact” with 28mm lenses and combine it with a relatively low power, say 8x, you still only achieve an exit pupil of 3.5mm (28÷8).Optically, and with an aperture of 21mm (0.83-inches), this binocular might not be the first choice for keen observers of the night sky — due to their limited light-gathering prowess — but for those who like to dabble in gazing upon magnified views of the moon and detailed sights of wildlife, then this fogproof piece of kit of suits a variety of budgets. Like the magnification, the objective lens diameter makes a big difference to how a binocular performs and as a result which areas it is most suitable for use.
Best binoculars for horse racing and other sports:Sports tend to happen during the day, so a bright objective lens is less of a concern. Something like an 8x30 will hit the spot, as the 8x magnification should be plenty to see what's going on from the stand. There's no point getting something big and heavy if you don't need it!Just what I wanted for bird watching in my garden . Also when we can go to the theatre & ballet again they will be ideal. Lightweight & small. With clear vision. Lovely
