About this deal
So much time and effort invested in this character, she's not going to be important in later films I bet
Yeah, we finished the transfer and I wanted to do it myself because Mikael [Salomon] did such a beautiful job with the cinematography on that film. It is truly, truly gorgeous cinematography. That was before I started to assert myself in terms of lighting and asking the cinematographer to do certain things. I’d compose with the camera and choose the lenses, but I left the lighting to him. He did a remarkable job on that movie that I appreciate better now than I did even as we were making it.

Older films (pre-digital cameras) were not always perfect. There are frames that might seem blurry by today’s focus standards even after restoration. What’s more, there are times when the director may have chosen a not-so-sharp cut of a scene just because the acting may have been better (there were limits on takes in the negative film days). But, for the most part film restorations usually offer a new experience from movies you may have watched a dozen times before. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has set Neil Jordan’s Marlowe for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/18. Again, the Digital version is now available. This title has the distinction of being star Liam Neeson’s 100th feature film. Every time I see an old movie now I wonder what it would look like with a new remaster on Ultra HD Blu-ray. There are quite a few classics already headed our way like It’s a Wonderful Life, American Gangster, and The Wizard of OZ. But, already restored films like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien, Blade Runner, and Saving Private Ryan are a testament to how 4k/HDR and immersive audio can bring new life to classic titles. The AMP Suit – Explore the design of the AMP (Amplified Mobility Platform) and discover why it was the perfect weapon for Colonel Quaritch.
