CISA Adds Eight Known Exploited Vulnerabilities to Catalog | CISA". www.cisa.gov . Retrieved 13 April 2022. Over the next 1500 years, Arrakis (now called Rakis) is returned to a desert by the thriving sandworm cycle. Bene Gesserit Mother Superior Taraza becomes aware in Heretics of Dune (1984) that humanity is being limited by the prescient dream of Leto, and controlled by him through his worm remnants. She engineers the destruction of Rakis by the Honored Matres to free humanity, leaving one remaining worm to start the cycle anew. Taraza is killed; her successor Darwi Odrade takes the worm to Chapterhouse. She submerges it in a spice bath to generate sandtrout, with the goal of terraforming their own planet Chapterhouse into another Dune, and later doing the same on other planets, with new worms and infinite potential for gathering spice. Those questions fell to Drew Robinson, a malware analyst at iSight. It would be Robinson’s job to follow the clues within that PowerPoint to solve the larger mysteries of the hidden operation it represented.

His lucid, dynamic exposé is a must-read for those worried about the vulnerabilities of the digital world.” I grew up reading and watching science fiction and horror so I learned to compartmentalize from "real life." But Greenberg's description of actual events in this cyber connected world has caused me to take action to change my use of certain software and technology. At the end of the book, there is a hint of how to be more resilient and survive the possible future disruptions.
Herbert, Frank (1965). Dune. "Worms of more than four hundred meters in length have been recorded by reliable witnesses, and there's reason to believe even larger ones exist." I like the way the author discusses the people he met and interviewed, giving us insight into who they are and how the dealt with the cyberwarfare in the countries. He had to use interpreters at times for Russian, Ukrainian and Korean. He did lots of research, and not just at his computer desk.Herbert, Frank (July 1980). " Dune Genesis". Omni. In the Prelude to Dune prequel trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson (1999–2004), the Tleilaxu initiate Project Amal, an early attempt to create synthetic melange to eliminate dependence upon Arrakis. They are fundamentally unaware, however, that melange production is part of the sandworm lifecycle, and the project is an abysmal failure. I would recommend it to people more interested in cyberwar and its evolution in the Russian and Ukrainian contextIn 2007 in a demonstration at the Idaho National Laboratories 30 lines of code were used to destroy a large generator connected to the grid. Deployed over the internet the code reprogrammed the machine interface to reverse a command which connected the generator to the grid when it was at the correct speed. Instead the code disconnected it sending it spinning wildly then connected it again which forced it to abruptly slow down to the correct speed at which point the commands were repeated. The generator soon flew apart.
